Anke Dill, born in Stuttgart, studied violin with Nora Chastain, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Yair Kless and Donald Weilerstein.
The violinist, who has won numerous awards, performs as a soloist and chamber musician in a variety of ensembles throughout Europe, Japan, China and America. So she is at festivals like "Schleswig Holstein Festival", "Brahms Festival", at the Rencontres Musicales de Haute Provence, and in the USA at the "Aspen Music Festival", the "Sewanee Festival" and the "Chautauqua Music Festival", as well as in large concert halls such as Hamburger Laeiszhalle, Liederhalle Stuttgart, among others to guest. Concerts with renowned soloists such as Shmuel Ashkenasi, Finghin Collins, David Geringas, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Gustav Rivinius, Barbara Westphal, CD productions, and radio and television recordings document their artistic versatility. With Jacob Leuschner she played several times the cycles of all works by Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert for piano and violin.
In 2009 she founded the BARTHOLDY QUINTETT together with Ulf Schneider, Barbara Westphal, Volker Jacobsen and Gustav Rivinius.
Her teaching began in 2001 at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. In 2004 she was appointed to a professorship for violin at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. Her students have been honored with international and national prizes and have received permanent positions and contracts in renowned orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden and Freiburg, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Gwangju Symphony Orchestra, among others
As a lecturer she teaches at the master classes of the International Summer Academy in Lenk (Switzerland) and at the master classes for violin in Radolfzell and Kirchheim.
