Sophie Hervé, after studying letters and a Master of Journalism engages in music. Winner in 1993 of the France Télécom International Discovery Competition at the CNSM in Paris, she started in the artistic world with a one-year tour with Alain Marion and Gérard Caussé and then on stage in the role of Musica in Orfeo de Monteverdi.  

A passionate itinerary between stage, teaching and writing.  


Daughter and little girl of professional classical singers Sophie Hervé works her family voice with Irène Maugué then improves with Udo Reinemann for the lied and the melody and then approaches during more than 25 years a very broad repertoire (operas, operettas, oratorios, recitals, creations, musical comedy.)  


Since 1995 and parallel to her career in the opera world, she is professor of singing at the Center Region Polyphonic Center and then at the CFMI of Tours and Cefedem of Poitiers, she animates many workshops and introduces a great reflection on the voice and bodily techniques (dance, yoga, Alexander Technique, and Feldenkrais) that she associates with her work after practicing them herself.


She works with professional and amateur ensembles in the Masters and Choirs and accompanies the vocal path of choral conductors and actors. Thus, it will gradually gain the trust and technical support of young singers and artists of national and international renown.   From 2002 she is a lecturer at the University Musicology of Poitiers and Tours and Paris VIII. She works on the modules: Lyrical Art and Performing Arts of the Stage, Direction of Choir, Art and Shows, Art of the Stage.   Since 2004, professor of singing at the Conservatoire du XVIII and in Lyric Art at the Conservatoire du VIII in the city of Paris, she works by opening her classes to the public, promotes external exchanges and passionately leads many projects.   For 12 years, she has been invited by the International Summer Academy of Nancy and Paris - Vincennes for masters classes of singing and pedagogy. In January 2011 by Mahidol University in Bangkok. Since 2014 at the Academies of Flaine. She is invited in November 2017 in concert and master class and concerts in Colombia.


Committed in 2016 by Foremi, she will accompany the teaching career of CNFPT singing teachers as part of its qualifying partner trainings.   Fascinated by the theater she practices from childhood, Sophie Hervé has directed for 15 years shows staged as part of its classes, for colleges, summer sessions, festivals with professionals and amateurs . Notably: Julien Joubert's Secret of Eva L, Louis Ségonzac's 80-Day Tour of the World, Schumann's Rose Pilgrimage, Thierry Lalo's Flute Player, Purcell's The Fairy Queen, The House of Bernarda Alba de G Lorca, The creation of "Raphael's Journey" and "Franchouillardises of Monsieur Loup", The children of Levant by Isabelle Aboulker, Gabriel Pierné's Fragonard, Ansel and Gretel of Humperdinck, Swing swing by Emmanuel Touchard, Didon and Aeneas Purcell, Pinocchio by Thierry Lalo, The dialogue of the Carmelites by Poulenc and Carmen, Kurt Weill's 4 sous opera, Das paradie di Péri de Schumann ...  


She sings the solo soprano of Bach's oratorios in Szymanowski, France and abroad. Member of Trio, quartet, vocal ensembles, she likes to discover the repertoire of yesterday and today and has a great experience and knowledge in the field of chamber music, passion she teaches and always shares with enthusiasm .


Directed by Robert Martignoni, Jacques Pesi, Jean Marc Cochereau, Jean Yves Ossonce, Claude Schnitzler, Philippe Hui, Dominique Trottein, Denis Rouger, Amin Kouider ... She sings in recent years in France in Verdi's Requiem, Mass de L. Bernstein, Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Mendelssohn's Psalm 42, Mozart's High Mass in C, Gounod's Gallia, Mozart's Requiem, Haendel's Dixit Dominus, Poulenc's Gloria, Donizetti's Missa Gloria, La Petite Mass of Rossini ... But also the roles of Elvira (the Italian in Algiers) and Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Helene (beautiful Helen) the first servant in the Masked Love of Messenger at the Edinburgh Festival , the role of Diane (Iphigénie en Tauride) that of Milady in the waters of Ems by Léo Delibes and Bess in Porgy and Bess de Gershwin or Marguerite (the Phantom of the Opera cinematographic version) with the Octuor de France at the Pordenone Festival in Venice ...  


As part of the Nancyphonies Festival, she performs simultaneously as a teacher and artist, including a duet with Didier Henry, in Fauré's La Bonne Chanson with string quartet and piano, in a Jazz quartet with Philippe Macé, in the Ziegueunerlieder de Brhams with Karolos Zouganelis, in a program "Paris -New York" with improvisational pianist Cyrille Lehn and she sings Schubert, Strauss and Brahms accompanied by David Selig. Recently we heard it in the Solemn Little Mass in Sancerre and Poulenc's Stabat Mater in Paris, the Chant de la Terre by Malher, directed by Jean Francois Heisser ...  


She resumed her studies in 2015 and obtained a DU in Paris VII in psychopathology and physiology of voice with the mention TB. Sophie Herve is currently writing a book on her pedagogy of singing.
